Current bid $11,211 reserve not met, 11 bids, 6 days left in auction. 34,973 miles.
Sellers description:
Offered here is a unique one owner early example of the series one E type Jaguar. This car was one of the first cars delivered out of Briggs Cunningham's New York city Jaguar dealership. With almost only 35,000 miles from new this Jaguar represents a wonderful opportunity to restore an absolutely correct original car that is almost completely unchanged since it left the factory. It was ordered in this striking color scheme of Black with Red leather.
Although now the car is showing its age, it is ready to be restored and brought back to its proper beauty. All of the numbers match on the car, and it has never been apart. The paint, chrome and all components are original and as they left the factory. The seats were recovered many years ago. This cat has not been started for many years, so the mechanical condition is unknown, but the original mileage is low. A structurally sound car with only a few rust area that are detailed in the photos below. The floors are solid, with some minimal pinhole spots on the drivers side floor. Most importantly the suspension mounts appear to be in good shape with only surface rust in the areas. The rear inner quarter panels have some rust and at one time the rusted section was removed on the drivers side. Both inner quarters will require the outer repair panels. The trunk floor does have some rust as seen in the picture but is is mostly only on one side. The bonnet appears to be in good condition. The underside does have some surface rust but the rusted areas that count have been addressed above. Overall not too bad in the body department. The jaguar has its share of dents from storage, but nothing that can not be hammered out. There is a dent as seen in the photos in front of both doors. The chrome on the car is original, and very restorable. The seat upholstery was redone, and would be more than serviceable for a driver. The gauges and dash exhibit minimal wear and are in good condition. Overall a very restorable car and most importantly a correct low mileage example delivered in a stunning color scheme.
