From it's launch in 1961 to it's demise in 1975, the E-Type maintained the mantle of the most beautiful sports car in the world. While the Roadster may top the classic price poll, it was always the fixed head coupe that took the prize for the best looking E-Type. And it was and is the Series One FHC that wins first prize. The Series One looks stunning from any viewpoint and though creature comforts may be improved in later cars, the sheer beauty of the model outweighs all other considerations.

Offered here is a 1964 example of the Series One FHC, which is said to have benefited from restoration over the past 10 years. It was originally supplied by Norton's, to Mr. Owens, of Albert Square, London, on the registration BCY 942B but this was lost sometime in the 1980's when it became BDV 48B.

Finished in BRG with black interior, the car is equipped with a 4.2 litre engine, manual transmission, a Webasto sunroof and has benefited from new headlining, new carpets, new exhaust, new wiring loom and a new set of wire wheels and spinners.

This handsome example has been the subject of an ongoing restoration project over the past few years. Upgrades include the fitting of new brakes and an improved cooling system, which were added by the vendor prior to taking the car to the Le Mans Classic event earlier this month.
