On eBay.co.uk July 2012 bid up to £9664 21 bids five days left. Car has 4.2 tailgate and probably correct late 3.8 vinyl centre dash. May have 4-synchro box?

"I purchased this car in 1985 approx, lots of new panels were fitted and welded, the engine was taken out and stripped. the engine had new rings valves springs bearings new clutch ect ,then fitted back in the car.I then had a new job and did not have the time to do any more work on it ,So approx 22 years ago the car was pushed back into a large shed .and covered up and left. about 3 weeks ago I decided to sell. so I power washed the car and engine. collected all the parts and put them into plastic bags ect. I then made up wooden frames to put all the glass in to stop them breaking,I know these are hard to find I decided to take out the plugs and put some oil in the barrels, unfortunatly one of the plugs broke off, I have tried to remove it ,using a left hand bolt remover heated the head with plenty of penetrating oil ect.but I cannot move it ,I think the head will have to come off fitted on a milling machine bore out the plug and clear the thread, not a major problem but very anoying.there is a bit of surface rust not bad after 22years but will sand off,all the bodywork seems ok the doors etc will need final fitting and bolting together. But this is a major RESTORATION PROJECT so the winner will have to decide how much time and money you want to spend and what standard you want to bring it to.Most of the parts are there for restoration or used as patterns .all the internal panels are rubbish and will have to be replaced but can be used as patterns, the chrome bumpers were new 22 years ago ,but have a very small amount of serface imperfections [rust] but pretty good.all the parts for the roof are there but need some work on the webesto roof? So 1./ 1964 etype3.8cc 2/ engine and gearbox Identification plate match the log book as shown in photo it even had an mot how it passed I dont know.3/body new seals door panels all floor panels .replaced bonnel with a good secondhand unit and rear panels 4/remove broken plug 5/the car is on sorn so should not need a new regestration cert just an MOT 6/lots of bags of parts 7/see photos get in touch or make arrangements to veiw 8/ This car will need to be picked up with a trailer /transporter payment prefered cash the auction will run the distance 9/reg number BHN 833B 10/steering colomn bearing is broken needs replaceing ,anyone bidding will have to have 15 tansactions if you have not get in touch to discuss .I am selling as a restoration project ,but lots of work has been done ,but lots of work to be done GOOD LUCK."

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
