Purchased from 2nd owner who had the car for 34 years. Cosmetically restored by previous owner, new paint (not Jaguar red), top, wheels. Currently undergoing engine rebuild with conversion to SU carbs. Plans to perform comprehensive restoration in the future, including return to original body color.

I purrchased the car from the 2nd owner who had it for 34 years. The previous owner performed a "cosmetic restoration"; new paint (not Jaguar red), new top, wheels and tires. The engine compartmengt and underside show the accumulation of nearly 40 years of dirt, grime, oil and an over zealous Ziebart undercoating. Currently the car is under going an engine rebuild with a conversion to SU carbs and a front suspension refresh. Future plans call for a more comprehensive rebuild including a return to the original color.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
