Ebay item 4/6/13 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $55,000, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This car has extensive service records including the original warranty book. The engine was rebuilt at 59,550 miles. The service records show ownership in Florida when the engine was rebuilt. It was purchased from RM Classic Cars in June of 1997 by the immediate previous owner. It now has 65,049 miles. Following are the current compression readings from front to back: 140, 140, 135, 135, 137, 135. The gauge cluster photograph was taken at hot idle. The temperature gauge rests comfortably below midpoint and the oil pressure stays very constant. Recently the car was subject to a comprehensive inspection and maintenance routine by an experienced XKE practitioner.
Notable Features:
All gauges function including the clock.
The clutch, gearbox, brakes, function fine & the clutch is quite smooth.
The undercarriage is in good order, but has not been detailed and has not had recent application of "spray can restoration." Because of the location of the radiator support bracket it is common for an XKE to have some damage to it. The bracket can easily be confused as a jacking point. The dent in the flange does not affect its function.
The Signal Red paint is very good. It should show well at local shows and cruise nights. A skilled color wet sand could brighten it up. Depending on the light you may see subtle different shades of red.
There is a 6" hairline horizontal crack in the paint underneath the driver's door.
The ride is supple.
Steering is quite easy and very pleasant.
Exhaust system is complete and offers the traditional Jaguar exhaust note.
Tires are Coker Classic 185R15 radial with 9/32 tread depth.
The black top is in excellent condition.
The chrome wire wheels are in excellent condition.
The vehicle is currently housed in a climate controlled private car museum in Salina, Kansas.
