This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster is a solid example of the iconic sports car in a popular colour scheme.
It is powered by a 4.2-litre naturally aspirated inline-six, fed by triple SU carburettors, producing up to 265bhp, which drives the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
The five-figure odometer indicates 80,288 miles.
The V5C shows just four registered keepers from new, though the previous two keepers were father and daughter. The car has been with its current owner for two years.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This E-Type is finished in red over a black leather-trimmed cabin, accented by the wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel and correct dashboard with toggle switches.
The interior features a full complement of Smiths instrument dials and a later Clarion radio cassette player.
It rides on 15-inch wire wheels, shod in a set of Goodyear NCT VT70 tyres.
The car now has upgraded brakes and a stainless steel exhaust.
It is accompanied by a handbook and parts catalogue, a Jaguar E-Type video, some maintenance paperwork and an invoice for a recent recommissioning.
CONDITION
The red paintwork is noted by the seller as being in fair condition, with some micro blistering on the rear quarters, bootlid, front wings, and some stone chipping on the front end, plus other small blemishes as shown.
Inside, the cabin presents in good order with wear on the outer edges of the driver’s seat, plus some modest creasing, scuffing on the centre console below the toggle switches, and some light ‘patina’ on the wheel and gear selector.
The seller is not aware of any electrical or mechanical faults with the vehicle.
SERVICE HISTORY
The latest service was carried out during May 2022. The work comprised of a brake upgrade and the fitment of the car’s stainless steel exhaust system.
The seller notes that during their ownership the car has been fitted with new wheel bearings, steering column bushes, rear brake callipers, and radiator header tank.
