    Lot #195572

This 1965 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was initially distributed in the US and underwent various stages of refurbishment before and after it was relocated to the UK in 2017. The car would return stateside in 2020, eventually being acquired by the current owner on BaT in June 2022. Subsequent work involved replacing components for the brakes and suspension as well as replacing the battery. Finished in gray over black leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six that is linked to a four-speed manual transmission and has been fitted with PerTronix ignition, stainless-steel exhaust headers, and a stainless-steel exhaust system. Other equipment includes 15″ wire wheels, a black soft top, enclosed headlights, and chrome bumpers and trim. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered in Texas on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, service records, and a clean Colorado title.

Finished from the factory in Carmen Red, the car was repainted gray under prior ownership. Additional work involved replacing chassis components and the body tub. Equipment includes a louvered hood, glass headlight covers, dual exhaust exits, and chrome bumpers and trim. The selling dealer reports that the black soft top does not completely seal at the windshield.

Following the current owner’s acquisition, the four-wheel disc brakes were serviced by replacing the master cylinder and booster as well as flushing the fluid. Additional work involved replacing the tie rod ends and bearings and seals for the rear hubs as well as the upper and lower ball joints and bushings for the control arms, rear sway bar, and end links. The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Michelin XVS tires.

The bucket seats are upholstered in black leather, which extends to the door panels. Appointments include a heater, a passenger grab bar, and a sliding rearview mirror. Speakers are mounted in the center console, though no radio is present.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles, less than 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was bored .020″ over and equipped with 9:1 pistons as part of work completed in 2014. It is fitted with triple SU carburetors, a PerTronix ignition, stainless-steel headers, and a stainless-steel exhaust system. Work in 2025 involved refurbishing the battery tray and replacing the battery and cables in addition to repairing a coolant leak and replacing the temperature probe gasket.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the factory colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.

A reproduction chassis plate is affixed to the car.
