84,000 MILES, ON EBAY 05/07 SELLER WRITES:

Up for auction is a 1974 XKE Type Series III Jaguar. I have had this car since 1996 and restored it 1997. It has new paint (Sable) which was the original paint color also, and CORRECT interior (Biscuit) from BAS Jaguar Interiors. The car was stripped to metal for the paint redo using plastic media blasting that did not warp metal. It has approximately 400 miles on odometer since I did the restoration. The engine had been redone prior to my purchase in 1996. I have receipts for engine work and most of my restoration. Four speed manual transmission, with A/C. Has factory hard top in correct paint color (Black) I have included pictures to indicate various views and restoration. I recently removed the car from storage (inside and dry) after approx. 2 1/2 yrs. I had moved into a new house approximately 3 years ago and did not have the garage to store car. I restored the brake master cylinder and brake servo booster (power brakes) within the past two weeks. If you have questions please e-mail them. That would probably be the best way to describe car if you cannot see or read what you want here.

Probably after the above auction.

VIN: UE1S25872

This 1974 Jaguar e-type roadster comes with the very desirable combination of wire wheels, 4-speed manual gearbox, air conditioner and rare factory hardtop. The previous owner took the body down to bare metal and paint resprayed, about 10 years ago. The body was, and still is, straight and rust free. there are many photos documenting the restoration which included the rebuilt of the rear independent suspension ... this is a major job and often neglected on many e-type.

The interior, top and wire wheels were replaced when the car was restored 10 years ago. The biscuit interior is in extremely nice condition. It has a tan top (in very good condition) and tan cover for when the top is down. All gauges works and the AC blows cold.

The chrome bumpers are straight but show some age lines (see photo), I would have them redone since the rest of the car is so nice. The paint is very good. The engine compartment is clean and detailed. Odometer shows 60K miles.

I realize sable brown is not everyone's favorite color. If I do not sell the car in the next 6 weeks, my plan is to have the car repainted in black (which would look superb with the tan interior!) and chrome the bumpers at the same time. In order to properly change the color of an e-type the frame rails, under the bonnet and inside the trunk would also need to be painted. This is a bit time consuming but required for a properly done job.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
