Ebay item 1/24/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1973-Jaguar-E-Type-Series-3-V-12_W0QQcmdZV ...
Current bid $2,025.00 (Reserve not met), 3 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
restored, red 1973 E-Type Series 3 model Jaguar. I have owned this car since 1997. The body is in excellent condition. Before I purchased the vehicle, the original V-12 engine had already been replaced with a 350 Chevrolet engine, all the interior upholstery had been restored, and the body had been re-painted. *The car is listed as having 25,000 miles; however, I do not know the exact mileage amount. *

After sitting untouched, for several years, I recently had a garage replace all four tires, install a new carborator and new plugs, and I had the mechanic carefully go through the car. The Jaguar is now in good running condition and is quite an eye-catcher anytime it is on the road!

Although this vehicle has not been fully restored to original condition, it runs without problems. This is a great car for someone who enjoys exotic automobiles of a bygone era, or for someone who would like to take this project and fully restore it to its original condition.

Current bid $5,655 reserve not met, 12 bids, 5 days left in auction. Now said to be in Houston, Texas.

Sellers description:
Jaguar XKE 1973 Chevy conversion 350 with turbo 350 Auto transmission. Car is beautiful and a good driver with new brakes and all required maintenance. Has electronic ignition and is computer free with a 4-barrel carb and ice cold air. Few chips on paint that have been touched up and it is a stunning example of an E-type that can be easily maintained and driven.

Opening bid $10,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in San Antonio, Texas.

Sellers description:
1973 Jaguar E-Type. I can tell you nothing about the car prior to October 2006, I bought this from someone who totally misrepresented the car and was very decietful in his description. Also, this is not a true and correct Jaguar. Outwardly the body it is a beautiful example of the E-Type, but it's engine is a carbureted Chevrolet 350 cubic inch.

When I bought the car it barely ran let alone stop, the headliner was sagging and the floor pans were rusted out with hugh holes to where I saw the road. I have put over $7000.00 into this car to get it running and presentable. Some of the things I have done are: New headliner, major tune up, installed a Rochester quadra-jet carburetor, new brakes with new master cylinder and power brake booster, new electric fuel pump, headlight repair, and new left and right floor pans welded in. The car doen't overheat, even sitting in traffic durning the summer heat in Texas.

Some of the things that I wanted to accomplish are new shocks (I have nos shocks), new upper and lower ball joints (I have those too), and a new exhaust system although the system now is fine. The air conditioner runs but blows cool air not cold and perhaps it only needs coolant. When opening the hatchback it "catches" so I think it needs to be adjusted. The clock doesn't work, but all the other gauges do work. The driver side windshield wiper arm needs to be replaced.

IF YOU LOVE THE LOOK OF THIS CAR BUT ARE AFRAID OF THE RELIABILTY OF THE OLD V12 THIS IS THE CAR FOR YOU. THIS IS A GREAT DAILY DRIVER. CAR RUNS GREAT, COLD AC. 4 SPEED AUTOMATIC SHIFTS VERY SMOOTH. THE FRONT END HAS BEEN REBUILT. THE GAS TANK HAS BEEN REMOVED DIPPED AND LINED AND REPLACED SO THE INSIDE CAR DOESN’T SMELL LIKE GAS LIKE MANY OF THE XKE’S YOU’LL FIND. FRONT BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED. BRAND NEW ELDEBROCK CARB ON MOTOR. THE SPEEDO IS NOT WORKING IM SURE THE CAR HAS OVER 100,000 ON THE CHASSIS, BUT IT LOOKS AND DRIVES AS THOUGH IT’S A NEWER CAR. I HAVE SPENT A LOT OF TIME WORKING OUT LITTLE RATTLES AND SOUNDS. THIS IS A NICE DAILY DRIVER. AROUND THE HATCH THERE ARE A FEW PAINT SCRATCHS THAT WOULD NEED TO BE REPAINTED IF YOU WERE LOOKING TO MAKE THIS A SHOW CAR. BUT I SAY DRIVE IT AND ENJOY! LOTS OF THE WEATHERSTRIPING HAS ALSO BEEN REPLACED. ALSO LOTS OF NEW SPARE PARTS COME WITH CAR. IF YOU WANT THE CLASSIC LOOK BUT A QUICK SMOOTH RELIABLE CAR TO DRIVE DAILY THIS IS IT. The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
