Ebay item 2/11/12 xkedata.com, so we would say this car falls under that category.
To elaborate on the condition of this car, as we see it. This is subjective and people see these cars differently depending on what they are looking for. If you need further details, I would be happy to send high resolution pictures. The car is available for inspection to serious individuals or to inspectors representing them. Here is how we see the car:
Paint/body: The paint was done almost 20 years ago. It does show some signs of its age. There are some chips under the driver side door. In addition, there are some other small chips and paint imperfections on the car in various places. This is a driver, so it has been driven, so you would expect a 20 year old paint job to show some wear if it was driven. From about 10 feet away it looks great. It could probably use a good buff and color sand, but does not need it. It does not need to be repainted, just want the next owner to know these imperfections are there.
Chrome: The chrome above the doors looks original and is cloudy. The rear chrome bumpers are starting to show slight pitting. The front bumper blades look excellent. The chrome around the grill has a small dent. The chrome around the windshield looks original and cloudy, but could be polished to bring it back some.
Interior: The interior was replaced when the car was restored in 1993. The driver side seats shows more wear then the passenger side, but overall the seats look very nice. The driverside door panel has a little separation towards the top. The heater controls are stuck. All the gauges work fine and switches to work well. The rear storage compartment behind the seats is very clean. The AC does work on the car.
Soft top/ boot cover-The soft top was replaced when the interior was done. There is a tear where the top snaps into on the passenger side because one of the owners left it snapped when they put down the top. There is also a snap missing on the driver side.
Wheels/Tires: The chrome wire wheels are not brand new, but still look good. Also there is good tread left on the tires.
Underside/floors: The floors are excellent and look original. The rest of the underside is nice and solid, but not overly detailed.
Engine Compartment: The engine compartment is nice. The weber carburetors give this engine a great look. It is not perfect in the engine bay, but clean for a nice driver.
Spare tire Compartment: The spare tire compartment is solid with no rust. It is painted black and it looks like there is still some original insulation. The chrome spare is clean and is in useable condition.
Mechanical: This car runs and drives excellent. It is very tight to the road and the brakes feel good. It sounds great with the upgraded Monza exhaust. The compression is 120psi to 135psi across all 12 cylinders. The oil pressure is also good as well.
Overall: As said above this car is what we would call a scruffy driver and a nice driver. It is obviously not a show car, but a good looking and driving V12 with good ownership history, documentation and low miles. The next owner can improve on some of the cosmetics, but does not need to and can enjoy the car as it is. This car is for someone who is looking for a driver and not looking to spend $75,000 plus on a show car. In addition, a good car for an investment as it does have good ownership history with very low miles!
SCM (Sports Car Market) Value guide has the Jaguar Series III V12 valued at: Low of $45,000 and High of $75,000.
