This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in Pale Primrose over black leather, and features include a black soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, and air conditioning. The current owner purchased the car in 2020, and the carburetors were rebuilt in 2024. This Series III E-Type is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate, service records, repair manuals, a car cover, and a clean Arizona title in the owner’s name.
The car came finished from the factory in Pale Primrose and features a black soft top, a matching top boot, uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, quadruple exhaust outlets, and a power antenna. The seller notes that the soft top is worn, and paint blemishes are visible.
The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/70 Dunlop tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include a locking glovebox, an AM/FM radio, and air conditioning. The driver’s seat headrest padding is disintegrating.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. The carburetors were rebuilt in February 2024.
Engine stamping 7S11781LB is shown above, and the Heritage Trust certificate shows engine number 7S11781LA.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors and serial numbers along with a build date of May 31, 1973.
