Recent Work
The car has been started every few months the past 15 years, the car needs no mechanical work.

General History of Car
General- Purchased in Florida from gentleman who said he was the second owner. His comments,” Original numbers matching drive train. Compression tests were excellent. Great weekend driver!” This car was the cleanest Rust free XKE The current owner could find to restore.

The car was purchased in 1989 and was shipped to California to be fully restored from the ground up.

By the time the Drive train and body work were completed on the this car the market fell off for these cars. The car went from being worth over $100K to $30K. The owner was so upset he pulled the plug on the project. The finishing stage, which was the interior was never completed.

This car has been in climate controlled storage the last fifteen years. It has not had any wear and tear, 0 miles since the restoration.

Mechanical
The mechanical work was done by an exotic car shop in San Francisco. While the body was getting restored the drive train and all the other components in the car were getting restored as well. The engine was rebuilt and all the components were replaced with new parts. Such as pistons, rods, carbs, distributor, etc. Everything last part was replaced on this car . The suspension was replaced with all new control arms, bushings, steering rack, KYB adjustable shocks etc. The transmission was rebuilt including the installation of a new clutch and flywheel. The drive train has less than 0 miles on it since the restoration. The entire wiring harness the was replaced with a new factory unit to insure this car will work perfect for years to come.

Engine
The V-12 engine is extremely smooth with wonderful torque that allows you to drive this car in most any condition and will respond immediately to your command.

Drive Train
This 4 speed fully synchromesh transmission is very smooth and is coupled to a limited slip differential.

Body
The Body work was done by Grand Touring in Redwood City. The car was stripped on to the bare chassis and put on a rotisserie. The entire body was refurbished to better then new condition. There was no bondo used on this car, all body work was done by English wheel or with a body hammer. The results were flawless.

The car was repainted 15 years ago and it shows some imperfections from storage. Small dent on the center of hood which happened from a box falling on it. The paint shows some lifting on the top seam of the quarter panel where the convertible top would go. There is also a small dent on the center of the rear fender from an unknown cause. The underside of the car is all in excellent condition in new condition. This car has never been driven in the rain and has never sat outside since the restoration.

Interior
Seats: original seats. Some wear
Carpet Original
Floor Mats: None
Dash Board: Excellent.
Gauges/Clock: rebuild in working order
Air Conditioning/Heater: Heater and A/C

If you are looking for a XKE in superb condition which has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, this is your car. The only thing this car need is the original interior reinstalled or a new interior installed. This car runs and drives better than new.
