My car was re-imported back to England in June of 1990. As far as I know, it was previously owned by a Mr & Mrs Howell who lived in Chicago and purchased the car in their home city and later shipped it to Florida where they would spend the winters.
I bought the car October 1995 and had it converted from LHD to RHD and at the same time had all the emission and air conditioning gear removed. I also changed the gearbox from manual to automatic and had push pull hand controls installed as I walk with the aid of crutches post a spinal injury. Body work was needed, so I had the car painted from its second colour of red to British racing green.
I know the Howell’s were not the first owners of my car and I believe it came into their possession in the mid 80’s. I would be absolutely over the moon if someone out there could fill in the gaps of my car’s history from 1973 onwards, especially where the car resided i.e.. where the first owner was from etc..
Since 1995 the list of things I’ve done to the car are too numerous to mention, but briefly I’ve installed a full brand new interior on the car, Lumenition ignition, swapped to Su’s and of course 4 new wire wheels.
Please feel free to contact me via. Email.
