Ebay item 4/24/17 www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Jaguar-E-Type-Coupe-/292094919770
Current bid US $25,000, no reserve, 20 bids 6 days left in auction, seller rufrydermg, 65k miles.
Sellers description:
1972 Jaguar E-Type, XKE, Series 3 example that has been lovingly cared for over the past 45 years. It is finished in its factory original colors; Old English White over Red leather, with manual transmission & air conditioning.
With just over 65K miles on the clock this Jaguar has seen very little moisture as the body shows no rust or metal repair of any kind & is dent free. The underside is solid & the floor pans are the originals with a small metal patch repair done at the very front edge of both foot wells. There are no signs of accident damage & the fitment of the body panels are evident of that. The vehicle received one re spray in the original color some time in the early 90's, the paint shows well with no scratches & has a good shine however, there is some minor crazing in a few spots.
The Jaguar V12 engine starts quickly & runs smooth & strong with no hesitations...as it went through a total rebuild in 2005, the car has traveled less than 10K miles with the rebuilt engine which was installed in place of the original sometime in the 90's. The manual gearbox & all other running gear are factory original. The complete brakes were also done at the time of the engine rebuild. Included with the vehicle is the Jaguar Heritage Certificate which demonstrates the original factory specs. as shown on the Vehicle Data Plate.
All electrical systems are functioning; gauges, horn, lights etc., the radio is the factory original British Leyland model & in working condition.
The interior is clean, with the expected patina for a 45 year old car, the seats are in excellent original condition with no tears or open seams. All other interior panels are original to the car...the headliner has been repaired in the past but could use a refurbishing.
The XKE has been sitting for about 8 years in dry heated storage & was re-commissioned in March of this year. The gas tank was cleaned & the entire fuel system flushed before starting, along with the brake fluid & coolant. The tires are as new but were installed in 2009. The engine does leak oil however, seems to be lessening as the car is driven more (engine seals may have dried-out during storage).
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire an incredibly original, mechanically excellent, charmingly patinaed and entirely honest preserved example of one of history's most important & sought after sports cars. Finished in a desirable color combination & fully factory optioned
