THIS IS AN ESTATE SALE AND NOT MY PERSONAL CAR. I AM REPRESENTING IT FOR OUR CLIENTS AND HAVE ONLY LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF IT.
THIS 1970 JAGUAR 2+2 AUTOMATIC IS THE ONE TO GET IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON DOING ANY KIND OF RESTORATION PROJECT. WHEN I SAY THAT, I MEAN YOU CAN JUST FIX THE BRAKES, PROBABLY FLUSH THE GAS TANK, CHANGE ALL FLUIDS, AND IT WOULD PROBABLY DRIVE JUST FINE. .....OR, YOU COULD DO A FULL FRAME OFF RESTORATION AND HAVE A VERY DESIRABLE, CLASSIC PARKED IN YOUR GARAGE.
I WAS ASKED TO GO LOOK AT THIS CAR BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN SITTING IN A METAL BARN FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. WE BROUGHT IT BACK TO OUR WAREHOUSE WHERE WE MADE SURE THE ENGINE WAS FREE, PUT A SET OF PLUGS IN IT, A BATTERY, A HOT WIRE, AND RAN IT OUT OF A GAS CAN AND IT FIRED RIGHT UP. THE ENGINE SOUNDS VERY, VERY HEALTHY. WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON, I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT INTO REVERSE AND DRIVE TO SEE IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS THERE, AND IT WAS.
THE ONLY MAJOR RUST THAT I AM AWARE OF IS IN THE DRIVER SIDE FOOT WELL. THE REST OF THE PAN SEEMS TO BE QUITE SOLID. AS YOU CAN SEE UNDER THE HOOD THERE IS NO RUST AT ALL. THE BRITE WORK ON THIS CAR IS ALMOST SECOND TO NONE. FIVE KNOCK-OFF WIRES COULD BE CLEANED UP VERY WELL, TO LOOK VERY PRESENTABLE. THIS IS A 100% COMPLETE CAR. AND OF COURSE, IT DOES COME WITH RARE AIR CONDITIONING FROM THE FACTORY.
