This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 is said to have been purchased new by the current owner’s cousin and subsequently acquired by the owner in 2022 following a reported period of long-term storage. It is finished in white over red leather upholstery and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 15″ knock-off wire wheels, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, a louvered clamshell hood, a side-hinged rear door, a heater, Smiths instrumentation, and a Panasonic cassette stereo. Service under current ownership is detailed below and has included replacing the clutch master and slave cylinders as well as the brake master cylinder, spark plugs, and fuel tank. This XKE 2+2 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with blue California license plates, an owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and a clean California title.
The body is finished in white with a louvered clamshell hood, a left-side mirror, pop-out rear quarter windows, a side-hinged rear door, and chrome-finished bumpers with overriders. The seller reports that paint chips and bubbles were repaired on the hood and the rear window seal was replaced. Holes are in the lower front fascia and blemishes along the body.
Chrome-finished 15” wire wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and mounted with 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A spare wheel and jack are stowed under the rear cargo floor. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by discs at all four corners. The brake master cylinder, rotors, calipers, and rear pads were replaced under current ownership along with the tie rod ends, ball joints, and sway-bar bushings.
The front bucket seats and a rear bench are upholstered in red leather and are joined by color-coordinated carpets and door panels. Equipment includes a Smiths analog clock, a heater, and a center console with a storage area and padded armrest. A Panasonic AM/FM/cassette stereo has been added along with speakers mounted below the dashboard, and one of the dash-mounted switches is wired to manually activate the under-hood cooling system fans. Wear is on the upholstery and tears in the footwell carpeting and floor mats.
The E-Type-branded steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and tachometer, while centrally-mounted auxiliary gauges monitor oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 99k miles, approximately 250 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is fed by triple SU carburetors and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Service since 2022 included servicing the distributor, cleaning the carburetors and clutch-fluid reservoir, and replacing the thermostat gasket, coolant hoses, spark plugs, clutch hydraulic cylinders, stub axle seals, and differential cover gasket as well as the fuel tank, pump, and level-sender unit. Corrosion is visible on the underside and engine bay components as well as the hood.
Service records, service manuals, an owner’s manual, blue California license plates, and spare parts are included in the sale.
