This 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe is a rolling project that was completed on April 15, 1964 and acquired in a disassembled state approximately 42 years ago. The car wears gray primer with a red hood and is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes and knock-off wire wheels. Two disassembled 3.8-liter inline-six engine blocks are included in the sale, along with a cylinder head, a four-speed manual transmission, spare driver’s door, and various trim pieces, engine parts, and interior components. This XKE project is being offered by the seller on behalf of their brother with a Jaguar Production Record Trace certificate and New York registration.
Finished from the factory in Black, the car currently wears gray primer and features a replacement hood finished in red. Much of the exterior trim has been removed, along with the side and rear windows. A portion of the driver-side rocker panel is missing, and various dents, scratches, and areas of corrosion and rust-through are visible around the body. A spare driver’s door and trim pieces are included in the sale.
The wire wheels are secured by knock-off spinners and mounted with older mismatched tires. The brake system has been partially disassembled.
The cabin has been largely stripped, apart from a seatbelt and portions of the dashboard. Corrosion and rust-through is visible on the floors.
Two replacement 3.8-liter inline-six engine blocks reportedly sourced from Jaguar Mk II sedans are included in the sale, along with a cylinder head, a four-speed manual transmission, and an intake manifold.
Rust is present around the underbody.
The Production Record Trace certificate shows the factory colors and identification numbers, along with original distribution through Jaguar Cars of New York.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for vehicles of its age. It is being offered with New York registration.
