This 1964 series I FHC was originally sold in November 1963 to Fred Williamson, a former pro football player and movie actor who played “Spearchucker Jones” in the original M*A*S*H* movie. In 1965 he sold it to a friend of mine, and I bought it from that friend in 1966 and have owned it ever since. Over the years I drove it approximately 150,000 miles, all in salt-free California. The bodywork is sound and it has never been in any sort of accident.

The engine, transmission, and suspension were totally rebuilt in 1988, and the body was cleaned up and repainted in 1993. Since then it has been on blocks in my garage and the engine has about 10,000 miles on it.

Last year I got busy on it and have done extensive refurbishing of the fuel, electrical, cooling, brakes, rubber, interior, etc, and it is just about ready to hit the road again. It is definitely not concourse, but it is nearly 100% original and looks quite nice if I do say so. I am looking forward to driving it again after all these years.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
