Ebay item 8/14/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Auction ended at $14,101 after 30 bids.

Sellers description:
Barn fresh project E-Type with a basically solid body, title and 95% of its original parts. This is a numbers matching original car that needs a total restoration. Please look at all photos carefully and bid at your own risk. Parts that came with car have been carefully laid out and photographed. Known to be missing: one glass headlamp cover, both front turn signal lamps, horn button, one sun visor, one of the two rear license lamps, and one tail lamp (original shown is busted). There is no spare, jack or tool kit. Other parts may be missing but everything that goes with car has been photographed. Bolts and other hardware have been sorted into coffee cans. Floors are remarkably solid. The bonnet is apart but the metal is in excellent shape with one small ding in the center of the top. Doors and front fenders had been hanging up in a dry garage by metal wire for 36 years and are very solid. This car was last driven in 1974 judging by the inspection sticker on the windscreen and apparently sat in a body shop since then until the owner died. Much work was done on patching sills and other rust but the quality of the work was not that good.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
