Sellers description:
Jaguar E-type 1963 Coupe
Beautiful red XKE which has undergone meticulous restoration. Total reconstruction of monoque shell with all new zinc-primed floors, panels etc. and professionally applied 8 coats of red lacquer enamel with original Jaguar paint. Has been garaged since with some tiny storage flaws and one dent in drivers door from ex-wife tantrum. 1967 3- carb 4.2 L engine and synchro trans. The cylinder head was taken from a fuel injection Jag for maximum horsepower and was gas flowed along with the intake manifold by Jag expert. Also hardened valve seats installed by Jag shop so that unleaded gas can be used safely and new stainless steel racing valves were lapped and installed. Many special performance mods including E-Jag harmonic balancer for high revving and new racing aluminum flywheel. Front discs have been drilled. Crank was heat-treated and all components of the engine were balanced and blueprinted, the rods were lightened, balanced and shot-peened. The pistons were specially coated and balanced to within a gram of each other. Chrome is all very good (re-chroming sent out to specailty shop) on this magnificent car and the glass headlights are flawless. Wire wheels just need polishing. The interior has new carpets, nice leather original seats from a 67, the dashboard and driver door panels were done in luscious matching black leather. The console and center instrument panel were done in beautiful wood veneer. Every bolt in the front suspension was replaced with aircraft or grade 8 bolts and heavy duty new anti-sway bar installed with all new neoprene bushings throughout. SU Carbs were totally rebuilt with updated components and intacts were polished and aligned with manifold. Abarth exhaust with chrome tips, Koni shocks, new Pirelli radials, and car comes with many manuals, tools and other literature. Also included is extensive video tape describing the total the 4.2 engine rebuild process. Clean title as I have owned this Jag since 1969. Well over $18k invested including a new wiring harness which was 60% installed when I shut this project down. This will be an easy restoration as all parts are here and all the expensive work has been done. This beauty just needs to be put back together as engine, trans and cylinder head are out of the car and hood is off. I was going to finish restoration at retirement but have to forgo due to a real estate investment. This car was to be built to blow the doors off my Red corvette which sits next to it .

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
