For sale at Marreyt Classics of Aalst for 175,000 euros. Seller's description below.

This Jaguar E Type with chassis number 886510 left the factory in August 1962 as a left hand drive Opalescent Silver Grey coupe with red interior. Still united with its original 3.8 litre engine R6811-9, but now coupled to a full synchromesh gearbox that was used in the 4.2 litre E Type, it is fresh out of a complete restoration. The Opalescent Silver Grey paint job is simply flawless, making this beauty even more elegant. Sold with our seal of approval.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
