After a road accident with its owner who lived in Nice, this 1962 Jaguar 3,8 E-type - a right hand drive fixed head, chassis 886294 - was converted by Drogo. It retains a steel monocoque and all Jaguar mechanical parts - but it still "looks awful. And very exclusive" (Martin). I heard that this car was on sale recently.

A little more information about the car was found here:
www.tybrainstorm.de/drogo/jag.html
This unique e-type (only in the States called XK-E) by Piero Drogo shows affinity with Bertone's similarly-based Pirana as well as with recent Ghia designs, but is less successful.

1962 JAGUAR Type E Drogo « one off »
Châssis n° 886294
This company was founded in the ‘fifties by Pietro Drogo, an Italian coachbuilder. He, together with his designer, Tardidni, pioneered angular lines and came in for much criticism from the press for their harsh aspect. History proved that he was right, however, with the production of the Lamborghini Espada, Maserati Ghibli, Citroën SM, Ferrari Daytona and so on, of the ‘seventies. The car for sale started his life as a standard FHC E-Type. After a bad crash, the owner commissioned P. Drogo to have a new body. This E-Type just had two owners from new. His body pioneered the last seventies by audacious lines and research on habitability. There were few special bodies on E-Type due to the difficulties to modify the cellular.
