Sellers description:
This 1964 E-type roadster is a fully matching number car. The numbers are as follows: VIN or Chassis number 881483, Engine Number RA6712-9, Gearbox Number EB14754JS, Body Number R8374. When the car was imported to the U.S. it came through with painted wire wheels and all 5 wheels are like that. This car came out of an estate. The last time the car was on the road was in 1978. It has been in a very warm and dry garage since then. The body on the car is just outstanding. The bonnet, the doors and the boot all line up very nicely. The previous owner had new footwells installed and it was done very professionally. The inner and outer sills are perfect. I don't see any rust anywhere on the car. This car comes complete with the, jack, the tools, the parts manual and the service manual. Also if you can see in the pictures the toe kick is still with the car. It is very unusual to get a car this old that has all these items. Usually they go missing over the years. The same goes for the engine compartment, I don't see anything missing. There are 2 things that I see that have been changed. The first is the color, it was originally Opalescent Silver Grey and it is now Primrose Yellow. The second thing is the gear knob was changed to a wooden knob. The engine turns, but I have not tried to get it started. It needs to be gone through as it has been sitting so long. The fluids need to be changed, the ignition system has to be replaced, the brake system needs to be bled and whatever else to make the car roadworthy. There are two things to look for when you are buying an E-type. Number one is to get a car with a good body and this car has it. The second thing is to get a matching number and this car fits the bill.
