This 1964 Jaguar XKE is a Series 1 roadster that reportedly was acquired by the seller from its original owner 35 years ago. The car is finished in black over red and is powered by a 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The engine was rebuilt in 2001, and approximately 25k miles have been added by the seller. Alterations from stock include a replacement canvas top, an aftermarket stereo, and an auxiliary fan. This XKE is now offered with partial service records, a matching hardtop, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

The black finish on this example is aged and shows scratches, dings, and blemishes. The seller describes evidence of body work under previous ownership, although further details are not provided.

Chrome 15” knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in a mixed set of Avon and Vredestein tires. The black soft top reportedly was replaced approximately ten years ago, although the rear window exhibits cloudiness. A matching hardtop is included.

The red leather fixed-back seats are worn, and tears are present on the passenger-side cushion and on the shift boot. A Pioneer cassette stereo and speakers have been added, while a wood-rimmed factory steering wheel is retained.

Smiths instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows less than 53k miles, approximately 25k of which were added by the seller.

The 3.8L twin-cam inline-six features triple SU carburetors and is linked with a four-speed manual gearbox. An electric fan has been added, and the engine was reportedly rebuilt approximately 6k miles ago in 2001 by Earl Gibbs at North Coast Exotics of Cleveland, Ohio. A receipt from the work is said to accompany the vehicle, along with nine other invoices from the seller’s ownership.
