This low-mileage "black plate" California car was first delivered on the San Francisco peninsula in July of 1963 to Grammy winning Jazz artist Cal Tjader. Tjader was one of the most influential figures in the Latin-Jazz movement, a prolific recording artist, and a major personality in the 50s and 60s west coast Jazz scene. I bought the car from Tjader's widow in July of 1988, picking it up at the very same address as on the original dealer sales documents, exactly 25 years to the month after it was first purchased. Now, after 25 more years, the car retains its original factory opalescent bronze paint, though rather faded, and has its original interior except for the seats, which had been recovered. The engine compartment is entirely original and untouched, and the car still has its Dunlop RS5 wide-whitewall spare in the boot.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
