Additional auction info:

Chassis no 877947 Long, svelte, and incredibly sexy, the Jaguar E-Type literally changed the automotive landscape when it was introduced at Geneva in 1963. For $5,595, a lucky driver could get the most gorgeous convertible on earth. Fortunately, the 1963 E-Type 3.8 roadster on offer is finished in red and trimmed in beige, which gives it as much charisma as is possible on four wheels. In its purest form, this early E-Type retains its covered headlamps, slim bumpers and slender taillamps, as well as the evocative toggle switches lined up across the dashboard. Accompanied by recent service records and its original owner’s manual, this red E-Type Jaguar is in very good and extremely usable condition.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
