Original Owner Del Lee (Jag dealer), second owner Dr. Harry Jones, third owner - Dr. Joe Arretteig.
Mr. Lee, a D type owner and a Jaguar dealer had ordered the car with non-standard wheels (1 1/2 greater track) and a few other changes available to dealers. Best driving E type I have ever had the pleasure to drive. I had to leave the road one rainy night in Austin, TX to avoid an approaching vehicle in my lane. As the right rear wheel entered the non paved shoulder it sank to the hub. This skewed the car some 45 degrees from the road bed and launched it toward the Colorado River. The shoulder on Riverside Drive at this location was narrow with a steep grade down to the river. The car became inverted and I released the steering wheel when I was hanging beneath the car still holding unto the wheel. I then fell to the ground and rolled some distance down hill. I then heard a loud crash and looked up to see a chrome wire wheel slowly turning in the moon light some ten feet away. It then dawned on me that I had nearly been crushed by the Jag. Damn I miss that car.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
