An advert on eBay UK for the engine from this car. No mention of whether the car was scrapped some time ago.

Trying to find one of these is like trying to find Hens teeth!!

Especially if you have an extremely early E-Type that had the incorrect engine currently installed. So many of these cars have had replacements with MK2, Mk10, E-Type 4.2 and even engines that have been ground down and re stamped. With the current values being placed on these cars it will seriously affect the price.

So now is your opportunity to purchase a matching numbers head and block, with correct factory stampings, 1961 3.8L engine number R 2908-9 which has been dry stored since 1979, well oiled, and regularly turned. Up until recently it has been installed in a UK RHD Series One 2+2 car. This car is now being restored and a correct engine will be fitted hence this one is surplus to requirements.

I do have a copy of the Heritage Certificate which shows the car which was originally fitted with the engine - it was chassis number 876263.

The engine is not going to be cheap but it's probably better than having money in the bank at present.

For collection from Bexley Kent. I can assist with loading or I can pallet and strap and help with / organise shipping if required.

PLEASE NOTE THE AUTOMATIC GEARBOX ATTACHED DOES NOT COME WITH IT.

Good luck

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
