Sellers description:
1963 Jaguar E-Type S1 3.8 FHC - £14,995
We absolutely love these early E-Types here and have sold many in recent years. This is exactly the condition we love to find them in, it is very clean and presentable, drives extremely well, is ready for the summer and we are also able to sell the car at a very low price. This is a very early 1963 Jaguar E-Type Series One 3.8 Litre Fixed Head Coupe. Our car is finished in the lovely colour scheme of Red with the Beige Leather Interior. The car has 50k Miles on the clock but we have very little service history with the car so you will have to do some detective work! The car lived all its life in South Africa, was imported here in 2003 and has only had the onw owner in the UK. The car has a long Tax and MOT and drives extremely well and is ready for the summer.
Interior:
Our car has a lovely Beige Leather interior and has a wonderful patina, it is too good to be the original interior and is a wonderful place to be. All the dials and instruments work as they should and there is nothing really to address apart from some sagging dash trim. The carpets are very good and everything feels very nice.
Exterior:
Our car is finished in Red and the paintwork is professionally applied albeit some time ago. The finish is wonderful with a deep lustre although there are some minor imperfections. The chromework is all very good and complete and the glass area is all very good and also complete. There are no dings or dents and the car presents extremely well. The tyres and Wire Wheels are also good. There is some minor damage to the front badge bar in the oval but that is about all.
Mechanical:
The car starts first time and idles smoothly. The car drives extremely well with no surprises and pulls strongly in every gear. The gearbox is the preferable synchro type and is slick to use. There are no knocks or rattles from the suspension and the brakes work as they should, although they are the originals and not brilliant!
Summary
This is a very good useable car in a great colour scheme ready to go immediately at a great price. You will see many other cars before finding one this good at this price. The drive is very good and with a long Tax and Mot it is ready to go this summer! Get in and drive away a Fixed Head Coupe for the price of a ratty 2+2!
As with all our cars, we have priced her for an immediate sale. If you have seen the cars that are out there, come and see ours and your search will be over.
First registered in South Africa in 1963
The car was imported and registered to the UK in 2003
The Chassis Number is 861139
The car has an MOT until November 2006
The car has a Tax Disc until October (The Tax is Free)
We have all the normal legal documents with the car but very little history, you will have to do some detective work!

Finished in red with beige leather upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in "very good" condition with regard to its engine, four-speed manual gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, chassis, bodywork, paintwork and wheels / tyres. Reportedly an "ex-South African dry state car" that was restored in its adopted homeland before returning to the UK in 2002, it apparently retains "all matching numbers". Said to be "good mechanically", this "very sound usable E-type" is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until November 2006, historic class (free) road tax until October 2006 and Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate.
