The vendor advises us that this Series 1 E-Type Coupé has no modifications from factory specification and is ‘totally period’, retaining the original Moss gearbox, brakes, dynamo and standard ignition system with no modern upgrades. Supplied new by Byatt’s of Fenton Ltd, the car was purchased by the current owner in 1992 and since then has undergone a lengthy restoration that was finally completed in 2005. This painstaking refurbishment involved stripping the car completely; removing all paint from the bodyshell; repairing panels with some localised replacement; applying anti-corrosion coating; checking the engine and gearbox and overhauling where necessary; stripping and fully rebuilding the suspension - front and rear; and re-trimming the interior. The car was repainted in 1995 and in 2004 was sold to a friend of the vendor. Subsequently repurchased by the latter, it has been repainted again (18 months ago) and fitted with new wheels and tyres. Never driven in the wet since completion, on-the-button and said to ‘go like a rocket’, this highly original Series 1 E-Type is offered with restoration invoices, dating certificate, current MoT/road fund licence and Swansea V5 registration document.

Interior
The interior of our car is finished in Red Leather and is as new. The desirable Stainless Steel dashboard is also immaculate and there is absolutely nothing to address here. Wonderful and not far from Concours condition.

Exterior
Our car has been completely rebuilt from the bottom up and this is evident by the condition of the car and panel fit etc. The restoration of the car was undertaken by an individual, not by a professional company and this is only evident in some slightly rougher edges of some inner panels. The Paint is fantastic and the lines are great making this a car you can really be proud of. The Wheels are as new as are the tyres and there is absolutely nothing that you need to do.

Mechanical
The car has all the original mechanicals in place and drives axactly as it should with good oil pressure. The car has a long MOT and is ready to go. There are no undue knocks or rattles from the suspension and everything feels restored and tight. The car is showing 25k Miles on the Speedometer.

Summary
This car has never been driven in the wet since the completion of the restoration and a cursory glance at the car will confirm this. This car is absolutely stunning in all respects. The colour scheme is perfect and the Series One 3.8 litre cars have historically been the most valuable. I have seen similar cars for sale for over £10k more than the asking price for this one so I suggest to get in contact quickly if you are interested. The car is ready to show or to use daily!
