Current bid $5,100 reserve not met, 6 bids 6 days left in auction. Minden, Nevada
Sellers description:
Series II E-Type, Fixed Head Coupe. It's registered as a 1971 but was built in October 1970. It has the original 4.2 liter XK engine with two Stromberg carburetors and four speed manual transmission. It drives great and draws attention wherever you go. The exterior is Old English White with an older cosmetic restoration that included rechromed brightwork and new molding. The interior was redone in dark blue and black leather and is in excellent condition with the original wood spoke steering wheel, which is adjustable, and nice trim. When I bought it in1999 the engine had been rebuilt and a racing radiator core had been installed, along with a 16 inch electric fan in addition to the two standard side mounted fans. I live in Northen Nevada and drive with the AC on and the car doesn't overheat. It also had a new clutch. I installed a new clutch master cylinder and rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder. The brakes were rebuilt and work great and I replaced the exhaust manifold gasket. I've put less than a thousand miles on it.
The car has won best in class at shows in Reno, NV, Lake Tahoe, CA and Sacramento, CA between 1991 and 1998, and numerous firsts in the Driven class. It's a beautiful car.
It comes with the five original wire spoke wheels, the tires are worn, plus five 6" wide D Type allow wheels from XK's Unlimited, mounted with new Michelin's. The new tires have zero miles on them. The speedometer doesn't work but I have a new cable, the mileage was stated as 12,240 when I bought it, but currently shows 05758, so I'm not sure what the actual mileage is. The headlight switches work intermittently but I have two new replacement switches. The car is located in Northen Nevada and is essentially rust free, though a rust spot was patched by the previous owner in the drivers floor board.
