Car returns to ebay 2/28/07 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-FHC-1971-series-2-FHC-AC-Last-year-of- ...
Current bid $10,000 reserve not met, 1 bid, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $26,900. Location Atlanta, Georgia.
Sellers description:
Very few 1971 6 cylinder models were built and can be easily identified as they are the only year leaping Jaguars were attached to each side of the bonnet. Unique to the 71 model is a chrome surround inside the bonnet opening. This chrome piece is impossible to find and on this car this piece is in good condition. In all XKE coupes another part many times missing, and very hard to obtain, is the chrome around the rear hatch glass ... on this car that chrome piece is in very good condition.
This is a matching numbers car. This body on this Jaguar is superb. There is no rust or accident damage, even the bottom are the doors are rust free. The bonnet lower valance (which is many times full of bondo) is also in excellent condition. The body gaps are very good. This is an un-restored car and the paint is old. It looks okay from 20 feet buy up close you can see where the Olde English white paint has cracked in some areas. I suspect some of the paint is the original. The black interior is all original and in very good condition, there are no rips or cracks on the leather.
Mechanically the engine runs very good with excellent oil pressure. Clutch and gearbox are in excellent working order, so are the brakes. The gauges, including the clock, are working. The heater fan motor is not working, the other accessories (wipers, headlights, interior lights ... are working). There is a little engine oil leak (this is rather common on a Jaguar), looks like it is coming from the left cam cover. The car has factory AC and everything is connected, except the compressor belt. I do not know the condition of the AC.
The glass and chrome are very good. The wire wheels are also very good as are the tires. The engine compartment is unmolested and proper.
This is a car that can be enjoyed as is and made better over time, if desired. When shopping for a Jaguar e-type pay particular attention to the body. This car gets very high marks in that area.

Car returns to ebay 12/1/09 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-2-DOOR-COUPE-RARE-LAST-PRODUCTION-YEAR-JAG ...
Opening bid $25,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico.
Sellers description:
Numbers matching, last year production 1971 Jaguar XKE Fixed Head Coupe Series II, with the 4.2 Liter engine. This XKE FHC has 54,000 original miles, is very original and certainly quite correct. It has the original radio, and comes with the somewhat rare factory/dealer installed AC unit. All small dents were recently fixed, new rubber seals installed on the entire body and the entire car was stripped and repainted with the correct original color. The interior is mostly original and in real good shape. The engine’s top end, a new clutch, breaks, rear end, AC compressor, fuel pump, carburetor rebuild and a few other necessary things were all done less than 2,000 miles ago. All work was done by Victor’s Jaguar in San Antonio, who is well known for his expertise with these cars.
Everything in the car works properly; it runs real strong and is truly a pleasure to drive. The engine’s oil pressure is very good, it runs cool and the electrical and charging systems work correctly. The factory spare tire, jack, hammer, wire wheel tool, a manual and electrical wiring diagrams are included. The car is extremely reliable. Before the car was repainted; I along with other members of the San Antonio Jaguar Club drove from San Antonio to Mexico City where some club members would be participating in a rally. The car worked perfectly. Once in a while, I use the car for a few days in a row to take my son to school and then go to the office, again the car performs great. This year I entered the car in the “Concurso Internacional De Elegancia” in Mexico City. This event is organized and sponsored by the Mexico Chapter of the Jaguar Clubs Of North America (JCNA) and is recognized as one of the best “Concourse De Elegance” in all of Latin America. The car received “FIRST” place in its category.
