This 1971 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster left the factory in September 1970 finished in Willow Green over Suede Green leather. Chassis 2R14217 underwent a repaint and engine rebuild as part of a refurbishment completed from 2004 to 2006 in Colorado before being acquired by the seller in 2007 and relocated to Texas. The car features a louvered clamshell hood as well as a black soft top and is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes in addition to 15″ wire wheels. Inside, a wood-rimmed 15″ steering wheel has been added and is accompanied by a Smiths heater and gauges. The overbored 4.2-liter inline-six breathes through dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, while shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission linked with a limited-slip differential. Work in 2025 has involved replacing the water pump, otter switch, and clutch slave cylinder along with the front brake calipers and pads. The car left the factory finished in Willow Green and was repainted under previous ownership in 2003. Further details include a louvered clamshell hood, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets. The windshield was replaced in 2006, and the rear window in the black convertible top is discolored. The seller notes various imperfections around the body and reports flexing of the boot lid near the luggage-rack mounting points.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by Jaguar-branded knock-offs and mounted with 185-width Universal Sport Radial whitewall tires. The wood-rimmed 15″ steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline. A centrally mounted clock is flanked by gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 96k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added under current ownership. The clock was rebuilt in 2022.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 245 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. An aftermarket aluminum radiator with an electric puller fan was installed in 2005 along with a replacement starter, fuel tank, and fuel pump. The engine was bored .020″ over as part of a rebuild in 2006 that included installation of the following replacement components:

Work in 2025 involved replacing the water pump and otter switch along with changing the engine oil and coolant.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. A replacement flywheel and clutch assembly were installed in 2006, while work in 2025 involved replacing the clutch slave cylinder as well as changing the gearbox fluid. The seller notes some corrosion on the underside.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
