A very beautiful and very well restored 1971 Jaguar XKE. This is one of the nicest Series 2 XKEs we've had in many years. The paint and body is in fantastic condition, and on a scale of 1 to 10, we would give it a 9. It does not show any signs of ever having any rust or any signs of ever being in a major accident. The upholstery is all done in high-quality leather, and is in fantastic condition. The convertible top is restored with a high-quality cloth top, and the car does come with a tonneau cover and top stowage cover. This XKE also comes with a complete tool roll and jack, which we rarely see. It starts right up and drives just as good as it looks. Everything is in working order. This really is a terrific car that's been restored to a very nice show-quality level.

This matching-numbers 1971 Series II roadster benefits from a ground-up restoration. It’s also accompanied by a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, along with an owner’s manual, maintenance poster and period advertising. The Series II E-type is the final flourishing and most refined of the legendary bloodline of the classic XK-engined sporting Jaguars that began with the XK120. And what held true back in the day is just as pertinent now. It’s not only the most accessible of the E-type roadsters, but still a sensational value, particularly when you consider how much you’d pay for a Ferrari of the same vintage.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
