On eBay, January 2003. Ad reads:

My father bought this car 10 years ago from the first owner and I still have the original bill of sale. The car has less than 47k miles, is a 4 speed and has A/C. Everything works with the exception of the clock, the internal map light (it might be a bulb) and the LED display on the tape player (speakers are good though). The car has always been garaged, runs perfectly and to the best of my knowledge has no rust. The interior is the original tan leather and although it’s worn, its in very good condition with no rips and tears with the exception of a small tear on the stick shift sleeve. The chrome is in very good but not optimal condition.

Since owning the car the following work has been done- installation of an extra fan, new firmer shocks, new paint job ( original color, down to the bare metal but executed 10 yrs ago), new brakes, muffler, clutch, carburators etc...and I have most of the receipts. The one cosmetic issue is a dented "lower bonnet scoop"- ( you can see it on the view from the front – under the front grill) – it’s a bolt-on part and the replacement costs about $150.

Sellers comment:
Rare 4 speed 1973 XKE 2+2 in great condition. Drives as new as its been driven less than 1600 miles/year and has been in the family over 10 years. The car is completely original and has never been restored.- still have original bill of sale and unused red stripe spare. Over the years the following work has been done and I have most, if not all, receipts – meticulous original bare metal paint respray, installation of auxillary cooling fans, fogs, new clutch, new brakes, muffler, clutch and carburators. Recent exhaust manifold replacement, carburator rebalancing and muffler work make this car ready to perform as reflected by perfect oil pressure. Interior is in very good condition with the exception of small tear on stick shift sleeve. Clock and interior map light do not work (may be a bulb). Car has dated tape player but the speakers are good. Car also has original factory A/C which blows but needs a recharge to blow cold air.
The only rust spots on the car are 1) a spot (maybe 3 inches by 4 inches ) behind the lower edge of the right weel well and 2) 2 square inches on the inside lower corners of the bonnet
