Ebay item 9/26/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-/160889298293
Opening bid C $18,000, no reserve or bids 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
The car has the 5.3 Litre V12 engine with a 4-speed manual transmission and factory air conditioning. Although registered as a 1973 it was manufactured in September 1972 and has the attractive chrome bumpers without big black plastic outriggers. It's traveled approximately 78,000 miles. Included with it are a service manual and parts manual.

Through our summer months I drive it weekly or more often. The body is extremely good and the only flaws in running relate to its age and original design, e.g. the clutch throw is long and heavy and the transmission (like the notoriously slow "Moss Box" that preceded it) isn't as quick as today's forgiving transmissions.

About 10 years ago, when it developed some rust in the rear under-pans I had a very good paint job done in British Racing Green. The body man found more rust in the bonnet by the headlamps and minor rust elsewhere which was all replaced with new panels or metal. No rust has appeared since.

I drive the car one or two thousand miles each summer- it's a pleasure to drive city and highway. Mechanically, I've had both heads done within the last 10000 miles or so and most ancillaries have been rebuilt in the twenty plus years I've had the car- in the last few years the AC hoses, power steering rack, water pump, alternator, and prop shaft u-joints. A previous owner replaced the clutch and flywheel. The rings and bearings have not been done to my knowledge but the engine is strong and quiet, showing 40+psi of oil pressure at 2500 rpm even after hours on the road. I believe the clutch was changed by an earlier owner (I bought the car with about 48000 miles.) Differential is very good, albeit with a slight pinion seal leak. There are the typical minor engine oil leaks but I never have to add oil between (yearly) changes.

The car can be seen and driven in Winnipeg.

Could you give me the buyers ebay account name? I'd really love to contact him and offer to buy this car. (It is currently located at a car museum in Zagreb, Croatia.)

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
