original southern California owner 1972 Jaguar XKE Series III 2+2 coupe without it's original V12 engine which was replaced with an after market Chevrolet 350 V8 engine and with all original service records since new and with most of it's original factory specifications and options intact including original black leather interior, power steering, air conditioning (please note that the compressor was removed and has not been replaced) and all five original wire chrome wheels! Please note that the car does have an after market CD player and steering wheel. Repainted in burgundy from it's original factory color with it's original factory genuine leather black seat trim. Purchased by original and only southern California owner from 'Burbank Jaguar' and always serviced and maintained at Jaguar specialists with all original service records and registrations religiously kept in a thick service file! The floor boards and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free and the only signs of any rust whatsoever is a very small patch of bubbling on the drivers side rear underside by the exhaust! The car has had no accidents of any kind and has an extremely straight body with only a minor scrape and dent or two (see photos below) - obviously a garaged southern California driver only. The car looks extremely impressive with an older but fairly professional 'Burgundy' color re-paint and the black leather interior is in exceptional and mostly completely original condition with only fairly minor imperfections; in particular the driver's seat base is torn (see detailed photo below) but the door panels, headliner, dashboard, passenger and rear seats and carpets are all in very good original condition with no major flaws. The factory chrome wire wheels are also in great shape and the car has it's original spare wire wheel located in the trunk. Sellers description:
This is a Series 3 2+2 Coupe. I purchased this car about a year ago as a daily driver. This car is so dependable, I drove it everywhere, every day! I purchased the Jag with the 327 Chevy conversion already installed. Being a Jaguar nut, I was at first skeptical with having a Chevy engine and transmission in a classic Jaguar. But it didn't take long before I fell in love with the idea of being able to go to the local auto parts store and buy anything I needed in the event that it broke. -which it never did:)

EXTERIOR:
The overall quality of the exterior is in very good shape. Although far from show quality, it is still VERY attractive and gets looks from everyone. There is NO body rust anywhere on this car! The wire wheels have minor surface rust.

INTERIOR:
The interior is your typical used interior as this was meant to be a daily driver. However, the seats are very clean for it's age and the headliner is brand new. The dashboard has its usual cracks.

MECHANICAL:
This car is in very good mechanical shape. The smog controls that limited the Chevy engine have been removed as this car no longer needs to undergo smog checks -even in California! The automatic transmission shifts crisply through all gears. The brakes are in good shape as well. The car has brand new tires. All the electrical on this car works except the horn and the reverse lights (I have brand new reverse lights which will be included. The 12v power outlet has been replaced as well. The heater keeps you plenty warm in the cold. The air conditioning unit does work, but the a/c pump is removed. So if you want a/c, take it to the shop and have them install a new pump. The headlight are very good on this car. I have a brand new MSD HEI distributor in this car.

OVERALL:
Although far from a show car, I loved this car and I have driven it quite a bit. I drove this car in the pouring rain for hundreds of miles with my wife and baby. I have had no trouble with it whatsoever! However, I am sadly divorced and need to pay off legal bills and this car must be sold. This is the only reason as I have had very high aspirations for this car.
