Bought car in 2013.. totally original. .the engine had dropped a valve seat

Stripped car down to the shell,fabricated new, thicker sheet metal floors and strengthened tub at front frame rail mounting points .

Installed 52,000 mile, 96 Jaguar XJS engine and transmission. Built new motor mounts but NO frame rail modifications were needed. Fit like a glove. Had new tuned exhaust headers professionally built, All suspension components renewed. Gauges rebuilt by Nissonger. Built all new fuel tank with return lines for the now fuel injected engine. Modified rear underbody to install gas tank in from the bottom and sealed cover to interior so NO gasoline fumes in cockpit. Had custom oversized aluminum radiator built by Griffin. Had new driveshaft made. Ordered NEW 16inch stainless wire wheels. New front and rear stainless steel bumpers. Completely redid interior, deleting rear jumpseat and making rear deck continue from back right up to front seats. (as in series 1 coupe).

Installed more comfortable early XJS seats with recline. Reupholstered dash in matching burgundy color. Installed headlight buckets and glass covers from German company. Installed all electronic, ECM under magnetized cover just behind front seats (where jump seat was). Installed 3rd brake light system in original rear hatch vent. All new exhaust with OEM V12 tip. Repaired AC unit that now works perfectly and is Ice cold with radiator fan so now car never overheats in any traffic situation. Rebuilt power steering system. Basically, we built an XKE that you can drive on a daily basis with modern, efficient Jaguar running gear, that will always get you where you want to go and then back again. Without the hassles associated with Old British Cars.

All the above work took over three years and tens of thousands of dollars,

The result is not only an attractive E Type Coupe but one that can be used regularly.

1971 Jaguar E-Type in Silver over Burgundy with only 2,455 miles since completion. This E-Type is powered by a 4.0 liter inline 6 and four speed automatic transmission from a 1996 XJS, complete with its OBDII fuel injection and electronics. It breathes through custom headers and a new exhaust system capped with a V12 quad exhaust tip. Fuel is supplied from a new fabricated tank and new lines while cooling is handled by a custom-built Griffin radiator. It rides on classic wire wheels in 16" diameter while braking is handled by Wilwood calipers up front and the original inboard discs out back. The body was repainted in 2013 and the covered headlamps, new stainless steel bumpers and new seals were added at that time. The interior features early XJS seats with recline, a reupholstered dash and Smiths gauges built by Nisonger. There's a Retrosound radio in the dash underneath the rebuilt and working A/C system. Power steering makes for effortless driving. This Jaguar looks every bit like the classic it is but with modern reliability and creature comforts.
