Engine no. 7S9524SB

Auction 21985:
Collectors' Motor Cars and Motorcycles
12 Nov 2014 15:00 GMT

Supplied by Ritchie, Glasgow on 20th January 1973, this manual transmission V12 E-Type coupé was sold new to Cox Conn of Airdrie, from whom it was purchased by the current vendor in May 1980. In 1991 the car was fully restored by Simon Robinson of Darlington and finished to a very high standard (see photographic record and associated invoices on file). Enthusiastically campaigned since the restoration, the E-Type now has a delightful patina and is ready to be used and enjoyed. Accompanying paperwork consists of a JDHT certificate, the aforementioned bills and photographs, current MoT certificate, V5 registration document and a quantity of expired MoTs.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
