Lot 34 at Richard Edmonds Auction Sale of Vintage and Classic Cars at Chippenham on 1 July 2023. Sold for £27,000. Catalogue description below.

E Type S3 V12, registration number FBD280K, engine number 7S4409SB, automatic transmission, 68,838 miles. The car was restored some time ago and still presents well with clean bodywork, straight panels and bright paint. The underside is in fairly good order and has previously been protected. Fresh tyres have been fitted to the clean wheels in the last 100 miles. Both engine and gearbox drive smoothly once warmed up and the V12 sounds superb.
The interior features black leather seats with red piping, with no holes, rips and has minimal wear. Recent works include service to brakes, new front torsion bar, and new rear shock absorbers. It has been serviced with fresh fluids and filters. The sale includes the registration document, history file going back 20 years and includes old MoTs, service and parts receipts as well as the original manual. There are a large number of photographs from the restoration process.
The car was previously declared an insurance category D write off in 2012. Category D is minor damage beyond economic repair but it is thought that if the damage had been incurred now it would have been declared repairable due to the increase in value of S3's over the past decade. There does not appear to be any remaining structural damage to the bodywork or chassis.
