Auction description:
Sale Date: 21st June 2014
Lot Number: 69
1972 Jaguar E-Type V12 Coupe
Estimate: (£) 30,000 - 35,000
Reg Number: JAG 74L
Chassis Number: 1S0547/BW
Engine Number: 7S413915A
Cc: 5343
Body Colour: Beige
Trim Colour: Beige
MOT ExpiryDate: None
Believed to have been stored under an all-enveloping protective cover since 1989, we understand this original righthand drive automatic transmission Coupe was treated to a thorough overhaul by the previous owner prior to being laid up. This included an engine-out repaint in Beige, retrimming of the Beige leather interior, the fitment of new carpets and re-chroming where necessary. Upon leaving storage when acquired by the vendor in 2013 the car received attention to its fuel system following its years of inactivity which included the fitting of a new SU fuel pump and various fuel lines together with a new battery. The vendor now regards the bodywork as being "superb", the engine, electrics and transmission as being "good" and the interior as "excellent". The car is not currently MoT'd and displays c.63,700 miles on its odometer.
Fitted with an electric metal sunroof and sitting on factory chrome plated steel wheels, JAG 74L was first registered on 26th May 1972 and is accompanied by an old-style V5 document registering just two former keepers since October 1977.
