Advertised for sale 23 April 2024 asking $134,950AUD. Car is in Brisbane, Australia. Seller’s description (summarised) follows:

Heritage Certificate confirms this car was manufactured on 9th September 1970, dispatched on 24th March 1971 and delivered through Henlys in London, UK.  Originally Warwick Grey with a red interior. Its first registration number was JGP 2K. The Heritage Certificate also confirms this car was built with a manual gearbox and that it still retains its original ‘matching numbers’ V12 engine.

The early history of this car is unknown, though it is understood to have come to Australia early in its life. By the early 1980’s it was owned by Mr JD Staines of Chermside with Queensland registration 800NMZ. He sold the car in March 1984 to Mr Ronald Hughes of Ballina in NSW. Where it was registered RH4696.

During Hughes’ ownership the body was stripped to bare metal and repainted Regency Red which, at the time, was thought to be its original colour. This is not the case, so the car must have had a colour change early in its life prior to Hughes’ ownership. The interior was also re-trimmed at that time.

On the 1st March 1988 Hughes sold to an owner based in Valla on the mid north coast of NSW. It has been in the same family ever since.

The car now resides in Queensland, so air conditioning was fitted in 2020. It has been scrupulously maintained and numerous receipts show the work done on the car over the last 35 years.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
