According to an article in "Special Interest Autos: a publication from
Hemmings Motor News" in Nov/Dec 1995 written by Mike Cook , he is mentionning two commemorative E V-12 being in
the US. He mentions the chassis N° 1S2830 being the one owned by Walter Hill in Central Florida.
The car had then 50.000 miles.
"This non federalized E-Type was approved for importation only on the understanding that it would not be driven on the road " The car was imported in April 1986
with on papers stamped " For display purposes only" The car is on page cover of the magazine.

Standard equipment in 1974 included leather faced, semi-reclining bucket seats with an almond Ambla trimmed interior, tachometer, trip odometer and Dunlop whitewall tires on 15 inch wheels. The convertible’s trunk was covered in an Hardura beige colored mat.As production wound down on the beloved XKE Jaguar it was decided the last 50 cars
should be “Commemorative Edition” examples. The commemorative edition cars were finished in black and came specially equipped with factory hard tops and a special brass dashboard plaque to signify that it was one of the last 50 open cars built.

With less than 17,000 miles on the odometer and in completely original condition, the Commemorative Edition Jaguar we have the pleasure of offering here is without question one of the most rare E-Types ever built. Rare, not only on account of its mileage, but also as it one of only a handful of Commemorative Edition Etypes in the United States. In fact, when the previous owner imported the E-Type from the U.K. into the United States in 1986 it was thought to be the only one to have entered the country at the time. As such, the second owner, a prominent collector on the East Coast, had to attest that he would not drive it on the roads. In keeping with his word, this Jaguar shows a genuine mileage under 17,000 from new.

Today it remains in entirely original condition and though well preserved it would be recommended that a thorough service be executed prior to any driving or long distance touring. The paintwork, interior, brightwork, engine and bay are all quite tidy and in presentable overall order but would likely benefit from a thorough detailing to bring its appearance up a notch further. Resplendent in its black with tan presentation, the V12 Commemorative E-Type is complete with all its ancillary parts and accessories including the extremely rare and almost irreplaceable matching hard top, radio, wheels, jack and owner’s manual.

A total of 15,290 E-Type V12 Jaguars were built between 1971 and 1975, with only 7,990 being convertibles, yet just 50 were of the last Commemorative Edition versions, which make this low mileage and unique example a prime candidate for the true Jaguar
aficionado. More importantly though, just as the stunning Alloy XK 120 featured in the 2005 Monterey Sports and Classic Car Auction represents the very beginning of a legend, this Commemorative Edition V12 E-Type signifies the very end – never again would Jaguar be the same. The availability for such a low mileage, timewarp example such as this is entirely unique and we encourage close examination and inspection, as this may be one of, if not the only example like it in the country.
