1973 Jaguar XKE Ser III V-12

    Miles: 79000 Doors: 2 doors
    Transmission: Automatic Interior: Blue
    Engine: 12 - Cyl. Year: 1973
    VIN Number: UD1S23068BW Exterior: Silver

Vehicle Description: This is a beautiful 1973 Jaguar XKE V-12. It looks great and is a joy to drive. The body had a complete professional restoration with all jaguar parts and was repainted to original silver. There are a couple stone chips since the car is driven. No dings or dents. New ,correct vinyl top was installed. Interior has new dark blue leather, wool carpet, and vinyl from G.W. Bartlett Co. The car has been mechanically gone over and is in excellent condition throughout. This is a V-12 car with automatic transmission, 4-wheel disc brakes, power steering, power brakes, convertable, AM-FM radio, air conditioning, power antennae, factory luggage rack, stainless steel exhaust, Michelin tires on factory wire wheels. Recent mechanical work includes, all belts, all hoses, water pump, optical ignition pick-up. The air conditioner has a new compressor but needs charged. The tachometer does not work because of the optical ignition module (needs a small resistor). This car is registered with the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust and has taken first place in the last four Jaguar Concourse shows in Driven class with consistent scores of 9.9+. The engine compartment is very clean but has not been detailed . I have several new and used spare parts for this car

Vehicle Condition: This car drives great and needs nothing to show or enjoy on the open road.

I added some photo's of the restoration but unfortunately I don't have all the pictures.Jeff the second owner from Ohio, purchased the car from the estate of the first owner in Canada. The car had sad in a shop in Canada and some restoration was begun but Jeff in Ohio had to re-do everything that was done because of poor workmanship on the part of the shop in Canada.Wish I had more of the restoration photo's .The finished product was done to a high standard using all Jaguar parts. Nice work Jeff.

    all.It is the original windshield.

Underside, floors, suspension and exhaust system
The underside shows beautifully and is very clean and rust free. All solid, no rust. Floors appear new.Look at the underside pictures!! The suspension was upgraded to SPAX adjustable gas shocks all around and the stainless steel exhaust system looks new. Car handles great!!

    WHEELS AND TIRES
The wire wheels were replaced at restoration with Dayton Wire Wheels and only have a few thousand miles on them. They appear new. I just replaced all 5 tires simply because I HAD TO HAVE WHITEWALLS!!!! They only have a few hundred miles on them. They are Broadway Classic Radial tires by Goodyear. They are 205/75/15.

    Engine,Transmission and Brakes
The car drives, handles and shifts wonderfully and stops great. No issues. The car is powerful and the engine runs strong and sounds great. The carburetors were upgraded to new SU's and they run nice and smooth. The original 4 Stromberg's also come with the car. The car was recently lubed and the oil serviced. I took pictures of the dashboard while the engine was running so you could look at the gauges and see the excellent oil pressure, temperature and rpm's that the car idles at. No smoke issues. The engine compartment is extremely clean and all hoses, belts, fluids are as new.

    Dashboard, Interior, Softtop
As new. All redone at restoration. The metal frame for the soft top was also redone at restoration. No issues

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
