Sold by Classic and Sports Car Centre of Malton in June 2017. Seller's description below.
www.classicandsportscar.ltd.uk/Jaguar-E_Type-Series-III-V12-Roadster/classic-car ...

NJG800M is a genuine original UK RHD supplied manual E Type Roadster with matching numbers. The two seater was manufactured on 20th August 1973, the original distributor was Martin Waller, Margate, Kent, and it was supplied new to a private owner in Sandwich, Kent.

The E Type has had only five owners from new an the car comes with a detailed history file. The car was subject to a full major rebuild in 1991 by Charles Fairmourn Ltd costing £67,500. From 1991 to 2000 the car was with one owner who covered just 3,000 dry miles and in 1999 the car was entered into an Autoglym Concours d'Elegance competition where it won first place in the Scottish Championship.

Since restoration the E Type has now covered 23,000 miles and has come to us in exceptional condition. The car comes with a detailed log of use since the rebuild and since changing hands after the rebuild in 2000 it has had two careful owners and in the region of £20,000 has been spent on keeping the car in first class order.

A new mohair hood and rear bumper was fitted in 2001, a new exhaust system in 2006, a new expansion tank and distributor in 2006, a new petrol tank and Koni shocks fitted in 2008 and six years ago the E Type was treated to a full repaint and new windscreen. More recently in 2015 the car has been treated to a full interior re-trim by Aldridge Trimming and in 2016 the car was treated to new ball joints, new manifold gaskets, water housing gasket, high torque starter motor, new coolant hoses and new gearbox mountings and new exhaust mounts.

NJG800M has been driven to us from the Scarborough area and is in stunning condition. The car presents superbly with an excellent body shell, first class paint, a fabulous brand new looking interior and stunning chrome work including wire wheels. The car presents just as well from the underside and is a first class car with excellent panel gaps and a straight shell. The car drives incredibly well with a strong engine holding excellent oil pressure, a super smooth four speed gearbox and handles and brakes correctly. Having had a professional rebuild and £20,000 of expenditure since, there is no doubt this is an on the button, high quality E Type Roadster that is ideal for regular use and long distance touring with confidence.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
