For sale at Cathedral Classics of Paderborn. Described as an unmolested RHD series 3 V12 manual OTS with just 45,232 documented miles. Seller's description below. The URL is:
    www.cathedral-classics.com/car/jaguar

History: Registered new on 1 November 1973 as UGT703M, the Jaguar Heritage Trust have confirmed the initial owner as Mr H J Chambers who purchased the car from the Lex Motor Co in Wembley. Our example was then sold in March 1976 to Herr Wolfgang Nothacker who used the car between his residence in Bromley in Kent and Konigstein in Germany where it has remained to date. Between May and July 1976, chassis 1S2215, briefly changes hands again to a man who would tragically lose his life in 1985 racing a Porsche 917. But the final long term custodian, namely Herr Heinz Jaspert (a veracious collector of classic cars) kept the car for some 40 years using it sparingly until late 1979 when it was carefully laid up to move on to a new toy. HIs meticulous mileage notes, when fueling the car, include what he paid, makes quirky reading.

With the greatest respect to Malcolm Sayer (and his magic pen) the E Type somehow carries itself with a horizontal dignity that seems more of a by-product of noble ancestry than any kind of conscious design effort. The timeless design never fails to mesmerise both young and old eyes. Our example, incredibly, is one of just 1,871 RHD open two seaters ever produced. The remarkable condition must be seen to be fully appreciated and like any laid down fine wine, is now ready to be truly appreciated to those who deserve to know better. Following light re-commissioning, chassis 1S2215, currently German registered is now ready - potentially - to be repatriated to the island. It offers a wonderful patina, unlike so many restored examples. We believe beautifully priced at 129,000 euros, and worthy of any collection.

Exterior: This distinguished corrosion free Jaguar (body no 4S5453) is finished in Old English White, the gleaming paintwork is in wonderful condition considering the car is over 40 years old. Fascinating correspondence between the third owner and Auto Becker in Dusseldorf, confirm a partial bonnet spray in 1976 following a scratch imparted by the workshop during a routine service! Under close scrutiny, a tiny dink is visible on the rear left bumper. A tiny paint chip at the rear again, hardly noticeable, is difficult to spot. The front over-riders have recently been re-chromed. The original 'ever-flex' roof has been thankfully replaced with a more durable mohair material. A clever battery immobiliser, accessible under a wheel arch without having to raise the bonnet, is a wonderful insurance addition. The car displays perfect shut lines throughout and looks stunning.

Interior: Jaguar Heritage Trust confirm that the car left the factory with their simply termed Dark Blue leather interior and remains today. A recent, gentle renovation to both seats, have brought the interior to life again along with new matching door cards. New rubber sill seals now offer a neat, clean entry. A small repair, hardly noticeable, can be seen on the drivers squab. All rocker type switches are functioning correctly. The boot interior has also received a new lease of life with correct clean beige material. The 15ins Springall steering wheel is in fine condition, commensurate with such a low mileage example.

Engine and Transmission: The 12 cylinder 5343cc unit (engine no 7S12783SB) produces 272bhp through its 4 Zenith Stromberg carbs which were overhauled in September 2014, including a new fuel pump. The clean engine bay, presents well with a recent oil pressure switch fitted. During recent re-commissioning and detailing it was decided to replace the exhaust with a stainless steel unit. Gearbox no KL6620 is smooth and correct. A new rubber seal has tidied the bulkhead side nicely.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes: The original chrome pressed wheels (a factory option, surprisingly more expensive than wires) are in wonderful condition and again are commensurate with such a preserved example. They are shod in Pirelli P5 205/70 VR15 tyres offering almost new tread having recently passed the extremely strict German road worthiness check with flying colours.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
