26,781 MILES, ON EBAY 09/08, SELLER WRITES: The original Jaguar engine has recently been tricked up to 427HP by ABACUS Racing just for fun. And Oh Boy is she. She purrs at road speeds and roars for Abacus. Shes never been raced other than the final engine check by Abacus on the dino and a short demo for us by Abacus. Mechanically this car has been completely disassembled and reassembled with the upgrades. The body is in good condition. Both hard and soft convertibles come with the car. All major parts are in good condition or better. We have a printout of every item replaced and upgraded by Abacus.
I am not happy with the recent $4500 paint job. It came with some scratches chips and pits. And they brushed the chrome. There is a tear in the lower corner of the soft top and the body damage is a small ding at the right turn signal and some repairable dents in the chrome trim around the front of the hood. The windsheild needs to be replaced. I was quoted $1200.
We always feel like celebrities driving this car. Everyone has positive comments everywhere we go, horns blowing and waving. Simply going to a restaurant always turns into an event with people standing around the car waiting for the owners to come out. There is not a more beautiful car out there than an XKE.
I believe we are the 2nd owners but we have never doubled checked that information.
