Car to be at Coy's auction 7/09
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php
Auction description:
1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II Roadster
Lot 632
Registration Number:RVP 249G
Chassis Number: IR8987
This 1969 tax-exempt Series 2 E-Type roadster is presented in Signal Red with a contrasting black leather interior. Arguably the most desirable and practical of all E-Types for everyday use, this example is described as excellent throughout, having been the subject of a 22-month bare metal rebuild completed in 2007. It has had just two owners in the last 20 years, the first being a dedicated Rolls-Royce aircraft mechanic, and therefore its mechanical condition is second to none. It has also been the subject of rigorous maintenance and corrosion protection regimen. The paintwork was resprayed two years ago, and a new black mohair hood and hood cover have also been fitted. It has wire wheels shod with Avon Turbosteel radials, a new stainless steel exhaust, a new period battery, centre console re-trimmed in black hide, new inertia reel seat belts, new 15” Moto Lita steering wheel, New Kenwood CD stereo with correct Jaguar electric aerial, chrome boot rack and the black leather interior piped in red. Recently serviced and coming complete with a full MoT test certificate, this well restored and well presented example offers true classic motoring with the added bonus of high quality materials and reliability.
Estimate: £32000 - £38000
