This jaguar has been in storage since 1985. it drove into the garage and has not seen daylight until november 2007. We are selling for family friends that are going through a tough time. We bought a new battery for it, tried to start it, all there was was a click. The valve covers were pulled to see if there was any thing noticably wrong, there was not, then they were reinstalled.
The car has sat so long the brake fluid evaporated and left a residue in the master cylinder. the cars rolls freely and the e brake still works. We never put brake fluid back in as the system needs to be flused. We also never depressed the pedal so that it would remain rolling freely.
This car is very solid, the interior is clean, but shows age of a 38 year old car. The car was painted at least once.
There is minor body damage that occured the last time the car ran from running into the garage wall, and the front bumper slightly getting pushed into the nose. There are minor dents on the top side of the hood.
quarter panels might have a slight amouth of filler, but, look closly at the pictures, there is no bubbling even after 22 years.
The car is being sold, as is where is, needing restoration and does not run. Expect the worst, and you will be pleasantly surprised.
The reserve is low, the buy it now is low.
The car is being listed to sell.
The owners are going to motor vehicles this week to get a duplicate title, as the original has been misplaced.

1970 JAGUAR E TYPE COUPE 4.2. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN DRY STORAGE FOR ALMOST 30 YEARS AND NOT ON THE ROAD. IT WAS REMOVED FROM STORAGE LAST NOVEMBER.
THIS IS AN EASY RESTORATION PROJECT.
THE CAR DOES NOT START. THE MOTOR WILL TURN OVER AND WILL FIRE OFF A CAN OF STARTING FLUID, BUT, IT IS NOT GETTING FUEL TO THE ENGINE. IT COULD BE AS SIMPLE AS A FUEL PUMP.
THE BRAKE FLUID EVAPORATED OVER THE 28 YEARS OF STORAGE, AND THE BRAKE SYSTEM WILL NEED TO BE FLUSHED AND REDONE. SO, CURRENTLY THERE ARE NO BRAKES ON THE CAR.
THIS CAR IS VERY SOLID, AND ONLY SHOWS MINOR SPOTS OF RUST BUBBLING THROUGH THE PAINT.
THE MILEAGE IS ORIGINAL, YES ONLY 29,688. IT IS I BELEIVE A 3 OWNER CAR.
