Ebay item 10/11/07 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-2-2-1969-Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-2-2-4-2L-Ma ...
Current bid $3,550 reserve not met, 5 bids, 9 days left in auction. 59k miles.
Sellers description:
I purchased the Jag in 1981 and drove her until 1989. This Cat was clean, slick, and fast. This was just what a guy in his early 20s needed (Yea right!!). Reasonable Reserve price of $10,000.00.
I loved working on her (and still do!). Receipts are available for the majority of work performed. This list includes: Borg & Beck Clutch, Alternator, 4 Dunlop Tires, fuel pump, ball joints, front and rear bushings, bearings, bonnet struts-brackets-pegs, gas tank, door hinges, distributor cap, ignition cable, oil pump, door locks, and exhaust manifold.
I kept all the original parts. This includes the complete air conditioner kit, including hoses and cooler (some assembly required), fuel pump, alternator, 1 door hinge, 1 exhaust manifold, starter, water pump, various hoses, and brakes. Please note I have a new carburetor rubber kit (I purchased these to do myself, but instead had a pro rebuild the carbs)
In the picture you will find a new oil cooler kit. I installed the cooler, but stopped when the instructions stated that the Oil Filter had to be cut down shorter. I am no machinist and deferred this task till a later time.
In 1989, after a divorce, I needed somewhere to park the car. I took the E-Type to my Dad’s warehouse, ‘pickled’ the car for storage, and told my Dad I would be back in a year when I got settled. Some 17 years later Dad told me he needed the space in the warehouse and I needed to move the car. Some people have no patients for their children. (Just kidding Dad!!!)
In late July of this year I had the XKE hauled to my house for resurrection. The following task was performed: Electrical (battery, plugs, and points), Fuel (flush gas tank, new fuel hoses, new fuel pump with filter, gasket for water separator, and clean carbs), radiator flush, bleed hydraulics, and oil change. Clean and polish was easy due to the good condition of the car before storage.
The engine was not frozen (Yea!). As stated above, I ‘pickled’ the car before storage. This included draining all the fluids that would corrode, and overfilled of the oil and cylinder heads. I performed a slow process of lubricating the heads and hand cranks repeatedly until I was sure everything was good to go. The 2+2 started first time!! I have an mpeg video that I will send. The car starts fast and runs smooth!
The car needs some gentle love and care before being road worthy again. To my knowledge the engine has never been overhauled. To my disappointment the clutch will not spin, the water pump seal leaks, and some of the rubber has dried. The body is straight with no rust (only rust found is the battery mount). The paint is 1979 Cadillac Slate Blue that needs help. Chrome is complete and shiny! The interior is gently aged with both front and rear (two crush two) seats dried and cracked. The dash, center console, and carpet are in very good condition. Head liner and rear hatch is in fair shape. I do not trust the tires. Even though they have lots of tread, the years of storage has weakened their integrity.
I have the original XKE Repair and Glove Box Manuals, jack, hammer, and lug knock-off.

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 is finished in silver over dark grey and has been kept in storage for the past 29 years under the previous owner and seller. The previous owner was based in Texas, and kept the car for 17 years as a non-running project. It was then returned to running condition with a basic tuneup before moving to Ohio when the seller purchased it in 2008. Powered by a 4.2L inline-six and 4-speed manual transmission, a new clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, and clutch flex hose were installed in 2009 and more recent service performed in 2018 included a tuneup, oil service, and fuel system and coolant flushes. The seller has not driven it much and says the car needs more sorting to be driven reliably. This Series II XKE is now offered with recent service records, an uninstalled air conditioning system, and a clean Ohio title in the seller's name.
The current silver finish is an older repaint said to be a close approximation of the original shade. Paintwork is in subpar condition and has faded in several areas with many blemishes visible around the car. Paint chips and scratches are seen on the passenger's door and right rear fender, and the sheet metal around the grille opening shows deformation. Chrome bumpers show pitting in spots.
The seats are worn and need to be re-upholstered. An aftermarket wood-rimmed steering wheel and shift knob are fitted. Carpets are worn and insulation is deteriorated in the footwells. Back-up lights are controlled with aftermarket toggle switches. A removed air conditioning compressor and lines are included, and controls and under-dash vents remain. The odometer shows 59,309 miles.
The seats are protected with vinyl covers, and the underlying dark grey leather and padding are in need of replacement.
Weatherstripping and body seals are dry and cracked throughout, and the rear hatch shows some discoloration on the floor covering.
The 4.2L inline six is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The car sat idle for many years under the previous owner, and was returned to running condition with fresh fluids and ignition components. A new clutch master cylinder, flex hose, and slave cylinder were installed by the seller shortly after purchase in 2008. Recent service performed in April 2018 included a tuneup, a flush of the fuel and coolant systems, and an oil service using high-zinc oil. Oil pressure when cold is said to register 45 psi.
The data plate and a front subframe stamping match.
Brakes were recently serviced with rebuilt front calipers, replacement of flex hoses, and new front pads. The seller states that the brakes are operational but spongy, and should be inspected and adjusted by the next owner. He recommends that the new owner trailer the car home.
